A few posts back I wrote: "Head," the Monkees. I'll keep listening to it. On first spin it's interesting, and definitely aimed at people who've seen the movie. It's cool to hear the Bela Lugosi samples and examples of Jack Nicholson directing the Monkees. The music hasn't grabbed me yet, but maybe it will with more listens. It's not alienating, at least.

After a few more listens my opinion hasn't really changed. It's interesting, fun, not great. Due to the collage structure, with song snippets and themes recurring throughout, the album works just as well on shuffle as it does listening to the tracks in order.
