I know we don’t talk as much about recent movies with A-listers on this forum as some other genres, but most of her movies I find pretty bad. I liked her as April in Parks and Rec so I tend to give stuff with her in it a shot. But most of the time I end up regretting it.
She has been in some good movies. Of the things she starred in Ingrid Goes West is the one I most enjoyed. For the bad stuff though I find stuff like Bad Grandpa and Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates to be the least offensive of her bad movie filmography. They promise to be stupid comedies and they deliver. By no means good, but fun enough.
For me the worst of the worst is the more pretentious crap she is in. I just endured An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn. I watched it against my better judgement only because it was free on Netflix and I felt like a comedy. I read a review describing it as a cross between Napoleon Dynamite and Twin Peaks. If that sounds entertaining to you then maybe a movie fitting that description could be, but it’s not this one.
I’m probably in the minority considering so many of these movies bad. Seeing that Safety Not Guaranteed has a 7.0 on IMDB is just a reminder of how out of touch I really am
