Do you suppose wolves think of dogs as Uncle Toms?

Wonder if Warren Zevon ever got tired of going "aoooooo!" all the thousands of times he sang Werewolves of London?

Many stars do get tired of singing their biggest hit. Cobain by all accounts hated Tean Spirit, Lemmy was tired of playing Ace of Spades (although he also credited it with allowing him his subsequent lifestyle).

Last night, I found out Jodorowsky was was supposed to direct the sequel to Tron......
The production stills lie somewhere between psychedelic and corny, but not quite as bleak as the original..... Kinda like '70s Eurotrash on an '80s blockbuster budget.....
Story goes, he had 100hrs of footage, but it was all destroyed by a new studio chief after it was way over budget & way behind schedule.....

I think this is a fan-imagined thing, like Scorsese's "Goncharov."

The details otherwise fit Jodorowsky's version of DUNE.

I swear, every time I see a picture of Sam Brinton, I'm reminded of some '80s meme where a kid gets into a department store & rearranges the mannikins....

RIP Kirstie Alley

That one was a surprise. She was 71, I had no idea she was that old.

Sometimes a chapter in your life begins, has its moment, then ends. I think my one-time fascination with Lovecraft may be such a situation. I still fondly recall his works but there was a brief time when reading his tales seemed like a opening a magical doorway. I've tried several times since and especially recently to re-read Lovecraft, and though the pull of sentimentality is there, that old magic isn't. With some writers the glory seems ongoing but I've had to conclude HPL isn't one. Oh well, maybe someday.

My inner fourteen-year-old is screaming. My beloved Robert Smith looks like Beetlejuice and Sam Kinison had a baby. Oh, why couldn't he have overdosed in his prime taken better care of himself  Sad, so, so sad....

Just found out I got a new mailbox today...
The old one was too close to the curb, so it was getting hit by everybody..... It's plastic, so except for the missing door, I never noticed....
But, it was recently hit by a school bus, so the county thought they should replace it.... I wouldn't have noticed, but for the new door on it....

Trying to comprehend the pros & cons of Ranked Choice Voting and Chevron Deference....

In a nutshell, ranked choice voting tends to disfavor extreme candidates who might win in a winner-take-all election. It benefits a moderate candidate who may not be the majority of voters' top choice, but is an acceptable representative for the widest number of voters. Cons are you could say the will of the majority is frustrated, and it's confusing and cumbersome for the average voter.

Chevron deference is an abstract legal separation of powers thing. Pros are it streamlines litigation and stops courts from substituting their own views on policy matters. Con is it gives administrative agencies too much power.

Thanks Rev.
I had a rough idea, & watching the polls, I figured it caused some problems in Alaska...
Virginia still uses the old way of either/or (whatever the name for it is), but the parties use ranked choice in the primaries....
I'll be voting in a primary for the first time tomorrow, because I really don't want this grifter from Oklahoma representing my side again.

I knew the IRS & the ATF have been using this for years, but I never knew they had a name for it.....
