You know that's not the one with Bogart, right?
The 1931 version has Dwight Frye as Elmer, and that's the best it gets.

L'ATALANTE film title was changed to the title of that song and that hit recording was inserted into the 1934 film to try and generate interest... LE CHALAND QUI PASSE (The Passing Barge)... the recording and movie are the same year.

Though now considered a masterpiece, the film was not a success.  The filmmaker died not long after the film opened... JEAN VIGO.
