going back further in time after the 1930's

If you want to go to 20 films that's fine, but I've only seen 11 films from the 1920s -- so 10 is the minimum number

1 The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920)
2 The Kid (1921)
3 Nosferatu (1922)
4 Haxan (1922)
5 Sherlock Jr. (1924)
6 The Gold Rush (1925)
7 The Phantom of the Opera (1925)
8 The General (1926)
9 Metropolis (1927)
10 Pandora's Box (1929)

THE GENERAL might be the greatest film yet made.
I just watched THE KID on TCM the other night. No prolbemo. I love CHARLIE CHAPLIN and that film especially! THE GOLD RUSH is another favorite!

Nobody mentioned BROKEN BLOSSOMS (1919)? I guess not since it's before the 1920s...
So nobody mentioned SUNRISE (1927)? TeddyR
