I love GOJIRA (1954) of course! But there so many !

YOG-MONSTER FROM SPACE (1970) is right up there!

That giant walking octopus scared the s**t out of me when I was 9 years old on a late night trailer!
Didn't help me and Mike were watching Double Creature Feature!
This is the trailer I saw! I did get to see it on late night TV in the Bronx in 1979! Channel 9!

And the giant monster talks!  :buggedout:

Lugosi-"No. Dracula-never ends."

GOJIRA (1954) The only one I can take seriously.  It's special!

If you want to view paradise . . . simply look around and view it!

Love the original Godzilla movies, naturally.  (Just about all of them)  But a really good series is the Heisei Gamera trilogy.

While the earlier Gamera films focused the child friendly aspects of the gene, the film later films running from 1995 to 1999- showed that even the giant flying turtle could be taken seriously and go to some dark places.

There's deep lore to the series and it never really shy's away from acknowledging that even the "good" monsters were causing destruction.  It got brutal at points.  People have said these are good films to show people who think kaiju films aren't serious to get them to change their minds.
At least, that's what Gary Busey told me...

Tough choice. I am partial to Gamera movies, but the first Godzilla is actually a good film. I guess I'll have to choose Godzilla.
