I AM THE BAD PHOTOSHOP EFFECT!

« on: November 22, 2020, 01:06:01 PM »

So this started a few years ago after one of my groups trips to GenCon Indy.  I bought a game called Campy Creatures  a card bidding game with a theme of monster movies.   Vampires, Werewolves, kaiju etc.  One of the rules says, the player who had most recently saw a Creature Feature gets to go first.   Naturally, I usually go first because I love these types of movies.  But one of my friends said he had just saw at that time the latest Star Wars movie-and it counted as one because of all the aliens in it.

I said no, because to me the monster needs to be focus of the story in order to count as one, but I guess the argument could be made that they are because of all the creatures in them.

What's your opinion.

Vote and explain your answer.

Creatures are not the focus of a Star Wars movie, either as protagonists or antagonists.

STAR WARS a Creature Feature?  Sounds like a rule check for the game; Alex makes a good point.

Mere presence of a creature does not a creature feature make.

Hamlet has a comic scene; is it a comedy?

I get that a creature should be the feature of a creature feature, but aren't people creatures too?  And if by creature, you mean monster, I think at the end of The Monster Club, humans are said to be the greatest monsters of all.
