No one cared about Tucker Carlson when he wore a bow tie and defended the Iraq War and supply side economics. It was when he started sounding like Bernie Sanders that he became a big threat to everything

Frank Dux, the guy the Jean Claude Van Damme movie Bloodsport is based on, once claimed that he set a Kumite world record for 56 consecutive knockouts in a single tournament sometime between the years of 1975 and 1980.

If you assume standard tournament brackets and that he knocked out ever single opponent he faced, that means there had to be 72,057,594,037,927,936 fighters that competed in that tournament.

The world population in 1980 is estimated at 4,458,003,514.

I, myself was born in 1980, so I probabaly wasn't around for it, but was there some massive world wide martial arts tournament in the late 70s or 1980 that nobody ever talks about?  And if so, who did you all have to fight?  There wasn't enough people, did you fight aliens or did you just have to pick fights with animals?

Y'know it's nice not being called a satanist every day at work by my now ex-manager. I swear that guy and his bulls**t made me want to drink more to calm my nerves.

When the Smallpox vaccine for all intents and purposes eliminated the disease the Soviet Union started trying to develop it as an alternative biological weapon.

The current strain spreading is believed to be sexually transmitted, although work is still going on to confirm that as the disease vector.

Fortunately, it is nowhere near as dangerous as Smallpox was/is.

The little lizards who live around my house are getting almost tame and will sit right beside me on the ground for great stretches of time. At least I hope that's what it is and they aren't going to start attacking me.

I know ER is online now because she's always shown as "hidden."
Your the only one who does it, ER! Talk to us, sweetheart!  And I mean that! Smile

Apparently I'm not the only one, Ron, so the mystery deepens, or as they say on bad crime shows: "Ya gotta copycat on yer hands, Chief." ;-) I hadn't been on for almost three weeks before today. Next time you see that show up, look at my profile, since it shows when someone was last on. I don't remember ever setting my profile to say hidden and don't know why it does. If I cared more I guess I'd figure it out. But, hey, I'm here now.

Today is my son's eleventh birthday and we have all conspired to convince him he's getting nothing but clothes: every boy's most ardent birthday horror. Today when I knew he was coming around the corner I asked his sister, "Did you wrap the belt you got your brother?" The look on his face was like that of someone who'd accidentally eaten a sowbug.  TeddyR

With Netflix raising their prices, I wonder if now is a good time to bring back the video rental store...
