The British director of films such as Gorky Park passed away in January at the age of 81: this is a real loss.

I always wanted to tell him how much this sequence in Gorky Park scared the crap out of me: at 4:51 when William Hurt yanks the dead person's head out of the box, I screamed out loud in the theater.
