I hope your family and friends were and are supportive: I came out as bi in 2003 and my folks were 100% fine with it.  Smile

I haven't come out to my mom yet. I don't think she'd disown me but she's said hurtful things about trans people on multiple occasions. She's probably going to try and gaslight me into doubting myself and convince me I'm not a woman. That's how I think it's going to go.

I hope not. A friend of mine where I live is in similar spot.

They've my full support though.

It's a hard thing to do, come out, whether it's as trans or just admitting your sexuality.

You've got my fullest well-wishes and I'm pretty sure everyone here feels the same.

So glad you said something because I would have thought someone else just joined with the same last name and wondered where AJ went.   Best of luck to you!  I hope the support you get here helps you on your journey!

She barely acknowledged that I came out. She didn't have much to say at all. It was rather underwhelming, frankly. But better than direct rejection.

That's good to hear. I was concerned when I came out to my folks and the consensus from them was "You're bi? So, what else you got?" So, no problem.

Direct rejection can hurt, and a big reason I've not divulged things about my own, um, sexuality and concerns to family.  It's completely baffling and overwhelming.

You were among friends as AJ and you're among friends now! (By the way, I'm not REALLY a Burgomaster . . . )
