First Blood (1982)
Die Hard (1988)
Enter the Dragon (1973)
John Wick (2014)
The Raid (2011)
Commando (1985)
Lethal Weapon (1987)
Dirty Harry (1971)
The Warriors (1979)
 Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)

I would honestly have to dive into my collection but this is a rough list.

I separated films that have heavy sci-fi, fantasy or horror themes. So the likes Robocop, The Terminator, The Road Warrior, Raiders of the Lost Ark and so on are kept to those respective genres.

The Running Man (1987)

I've often wondered how that movie (which I liked) would have turned out if they filmed directly from the book: I found it terribly depressing, especially that ending.  Buggedout

I found it too difficult to make a proper top ten, so here is the top ten from my imdb rankings I'd call action films:

1. A Better Tomorrow
2. The Terminator
3. The Dark Knight
4. Die Hard
5. The Blade
6. She Shoots Straight
7. King Kong (2005)
8. The Raid 2
9. The Fugitive
10. Drunken Master 2

The Running Man (1987)

Imagine if it had been aimed for like a December 2021 release and they were like, oh crap, after 9/11.  What could they even do?

THE THREE MUSKETEERS (1974)
THE FOUR MUSKETEERS (1975)

Both were on TCM today.  RICHARD LESTER directed and they are essentially one long movie and wonderful, loaded with action both comedic and gruesome.
