How Long Should a Movie Be?
Let’s paraphrase Hitchcock,
How long before you need to pee?
That’s how long a movie should be!

The longest movie I've ever seen was Lawrence of Arabia.

At least it had an intermission!

When movie theaters are finally extinct, the length of a movie won't matter, only the quality of the story.

From the start to end. Or as long as it takes to tell the story in the most entertaining way possible.

"No good movie is too long and no bad movie is too short."--Roger Ebert.

But, about 1.5 - 2 hours. If it gets to 3 hours, think about splitting it into 2 movies; if it gets to 4 hours, definitely split into 2 movies.

Length doesn't matter as long as the movie is entertaining.

That said, according to my blu-ray collection statistics the average runtime time is 102 minutes.

It's a case by case thing.

With that said, I think the AVERAGE movie needs to be about an hour and half, but there's so many exceptions to that that there's no sense making it any kind of rule.

Length doesn't matter. It's how it uses what it has.
