The sleep of reasoner breeds monsters. (sic)

I bought The Rise of the Dragon, the new lavishly illustrated reference guide to the Targaryen dynasty from the Conquest to just after The Dance of the Dragons, and despite my initial hesitation about getting it, I'm glad I did. How much of this was actually written by Martin I can't exactly say but it's a solid overview into the world and history he created, and manages to be just different enough from past source books to make it worth having. If you have been curious about it or leaning towards getting it, I'd say go for it. It's out there now for forty bucks.

I saw that at the bookstore this weekend, but I wound up buying Stephen King's latest offering instead.
Which I will say was EXCELLENT!!
