I know this should really be under news but with Toxie as such an iconic character in B-Movie/Horror/Cult cinema it should be shared regardless.

I don't know how I feel about this.

He's a decent enough actor, so I'm sure it'll be a decent performance but Toxic Avenger worked best because of it being a low budget indie thing. Big budget remakes generally miss the mark.

They're going to have a mid- excuse me- "short person"- play Toxie? WHY?

I've never actually seen any of the Toxic Avenger movies.

I seen 2. Nothing to write home about.
It's intentional "camp", which, IMO, rarely ever works.

Excited is too strong a wrong but I am intrigued.

Toxie was apart of my childhood with the Toxic Crusaders so nothing new seeing this franchise toned down.

That being said Hollywood can ruined anything.

The first TOXIC AVENGER may be worth a look for some extreme 80s humor and violence (some that even I find objectionable). The second and third have moments but are pretty weak imho. The fourth (CITIZEN TOXIE) is the closest to a legit film or merit, coming as it does post-TROMEO AND JULIET and TERROR FIRMER when Lloyd Kaufman finally decided to invest some real thought, effort, creativity, and critical commentary into his ludicrous no-budget movies.

Macon Blair, on the other hand, made 2017's GREEN ROOM - a hard 5/5 in my book. So color me very excited for this remake.

Based on the image, I'm guessing they're editing the height in post. They could make him a giant in Avengers, so why not?
He'll be the new Tom Cruise, nobody will even notice!

Macon Blair was just an actor in Green Room and Blue Ruin, though he's quite good in both.  He did direct and write I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore though, and I quite liked that one.  Just a weird and entertaining film.  Looking forward to his take on The Toxic Avenger, I'm sure it'll at least be different.

Honestly, that part of it feels the most Troma-like of anything I've heard about the project.

Troma has always been about the "Okay.  It's a stupid idea but people WILL react to it!" stuff.

Right you are - I am mistaken. Always seem to associate him incorrectly w/ the director!
