Anyone see these two films?

Tomb of the Blind Dead and Return of the Blind Dead?

I picked up Anchor Bay's double feature DVD and thought the first was fairly good. However, the second was truly a bad-movie!

Yes, TOMBS OFTHE BLIND DEAD is one of my favorite movies.  It was just more interesting than most. Also ZOMBIE is even better.

I have seen both TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD (1971) and RETURN OF THE EVIL DEAD (1973). From Spanish director Armando De Ossorio these two films that began the "Blind Dead" trillogy are a must in any film fan's collection.

TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD was very good. A little bit slow, but it gave the shocks and scares. I have the Anchor Bay uncut video release in Widescreen in Spanish with English subtitles. I also have the heavily cut U.S. dubbed version and I have compared them both. The uncut version is better, but if you can not stand subtitles then watch the dubbed version if you can find it.

RETURN OF THE EVIL DEAD (known as RETURN OF THE BLIND DEAD on the video box) was a good sequel and more polished. The pacing was better and the action moved better. I have the uncut Widescreen dubbed in English video from Anchor Bay.

I hope that Anchor Bay will issue the two other "Blind Dead" films HORROR OF THE ZOMBIES (1974) and NIGHT OF THE DEATH CULT (1975) because the fans are waiting.

I have seen and own all 4 blind dead films and love the series. I own nearly 100 zombie films and the series really stands out compared to other living dead films. Look on ebay you can get Night of the Dead Cult and Horror of the zombies for under $10 there, at least I did.

Return isn't all that bad besides the fact it changes the whole story involving how the templars went blind! The cover is my favorite out of the series.

I have heard that the blind dead appeared in a dream sequence in a film but I can't remember the title. I have also heard they have a erotic sex film starring them (I read it in a video catalog) but I can't find anything more about it anywhere I'm starting not to believe it.

I've seen both "Tombs of the Blind Dead" (under its original title, "Night of the Blind Terror" and "Return of the Evil (Blind) Dead," letterboxed and uncut. I personally thought Tombs was the superior movie. Anyone out there seen the others of the Blind Dead series,  "Horror of the Zombies" and "Night of the Seagulls?"
