Nice reprimand, Zap.   However common usage has negates your antiquated idea. "A quote" is indeed a noun, it isn't the fault of those on this board that your dictionary or dusty grammar book can't keep up with the dynamics of the linguistic dialectic.  Besides, priggish purists seem to forget that if the meaning isn't muddled by the usage of a word, than there is no harm done.  Were you honestly confused by the use of "quote" as noun, or where you just trying to get the full use of the five bucks you spent on whatever tome you extracted this tidbit from so you could get the intellectual upper hand?

To keep this from being a complete digression, one of my favorite quotes comes from Real Genius:

"I think Socrates put it best when he said, 'I drank what?'"

I thought of yet another particularly great quotation, and I'm amazed that it hasn't turned up in the thread so far (caps as a best attempt to recreate the odd emphasis of the words):

"PUT THE f**kING LOtion in the BARRsket!"

and its sister line,

"No, nuh-uh. Oh wait... was she a great big fat person? ?"

I always like to quote Hanibal: "Toughened your nipples, didn't it?", but no one remembers that line.

"Toughened your nipples" comes from Hannibal while he's in full regalia straight jacket, muzzle, etc.. while talking to the senator about her missing daughter. There was a segue into breast feeding that I can't quote line for line, but nevertheless he delivered it poignantly.

Here's one all of us are sure to roll our eyes at. From Herschell Gordon Lewis's Blood Feast, the two police officers are conversing about the murders:

"Looks like this is gonna be one of those looooong hard ones."

and of course how can you forget:

"Have you ever had an Egyptian Feast!?"
[musical fanfare]

"I've killed mothers with their babies
I've killed great philosophers
Proud young warriors and revolutionaries
I've killed the evil, the good,
the intelligent, the weak, and the beautiful.
I've done this in the service of His Divine Shadow and his predecessors,
and I've never once...shown any...mercy!"

Kinda cool when he says this, he's just about to kill everybody in the room, and he's an unstoppable assasin (you can chop him into pieces and he reassembles himself), so they're pretty much screwed.  It's from Lexx 1.0 - I Worship His Shadow
