Has anyone seen this Empire Pictures release with Klaus Kinski? David Schmoeller (Tourist Trap) wrote and directed. The IMDB comments don't give it good reviews, but I rather liked it. Kinski is creepy as s**t, a real badass. Makes most of its low budget, though light on gore and limited to a single apartment building set.  I dunno, I can't think of anything scarier than crawling through an air duct with Klaus Kinski covered in makeup chasing me.....3 slimes.

Ah, Empire Pictures. A company founded by Charles Band and made some real classy low budget features like RE-ANIMATOR, FROM BEYOND, THE DUNGEONMASTER, THE ALCHEMIST just to name a few. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I would like to start Empire Pictures again and re-issue all their films if I ever become involved with film distribution as a career. But that will be quite a while.

CRAWLSPACE was quite good and different from Empire's earlier films. Here was a company that was making tounge-in-cheek features like TROLL and TERRORVISION, and yet by the time Empire went defunct they were making better features like CATACOMBS, PRISON, and CRAWLSPACE. Klaus Kinski was really excellent and plays the evil villian Hans Gunther with delight. Gunther is not your typical "oh look at me, I'm a bad guy". As you said Will, he's a badass!

Funny how a good film like CRAWLSPACE has now been unearthed from obscurity. It seems MGM has the rights to some of the Empire films and CRAWLSPACE is being released on DVD as a "Double Feature" with THE ATTIC!

One of Klaus Kinski's better B movie classics...
Now,if only his daughter Nastassja Kinski can play roles like this....

Kinski is one of the greatest actors ever and he's so cool in this movie...

Oh, the bit with the chair...ACK!

I remember seeing this quite well...my best friend HATED it and was screeching in agony the whole time I watched.  I thought it was a unique little suspense thriller, nothiing special...bit worth a glance.  Three slimes seeks fair.
