What is this movie?

I remember seeing a movie a few years back that came back into memory when I was watching a video taped off the tv. There is a part in the movie where it looks like the channel was changed and taped some of it before being changed back.

It has a group of kids going to an island for like a weekend retreat or something and things start to happen. It is like they are being attacked by a creature of some kind. There is a house with a boat dock and they hide in there to get away. I remember there are two brothers-one a serious type and the other a goofball type.

If any of you can figure this out let me know. I would appreciate it.

Could this be Bloody New Years or a movie with that style name where the kids are in a carnival and they get chased by some thugs and they find a boat and go to an island (maybe this is the part you saw), and then they find this big house and things attack them and the like. I think its called Bloody New Years but I could be wrong, they revirewed it at X-Entertainment.
