Favorite Evil Dead Movie

What's your favorite Evil Dead movie? Mines Evil Dead 2. Perfect blend of dark humour, gore, and horror. Plus, it's got a scene in which a guy cuts off his own hand. What's not to love?

I personally think that Evil Dead II is by far the best.  The original goes for straight horror and ends up being funny, while Army of Darkness goes for comedy and ends up being a bit tedious.  The second one is the perfect blend.

AoD should have been a whole lot gorier... you get the impression that the studio hated Raimi's original idea and made him tone it down.

My favorite, was Army of Darkness. Setting Ash in midieval times was brilliant. The effects, as in all the installments, were excellent. You could tell, that they were working on a bigger budget on this one. It shows in the final film. I also love the alternate ending. (my copy, was the director's cut).

Evil Dead 2 is definitely the best. Evil Dead's ok, but 2's pretty much Evil Dead but done a lot better. I kinda like Army of Darkness though. True, it's not as gory, but there's some really funny bits in it anyway. It's better than Evil Dead.

I personally prefer the first Evil Dead movie. It has a power and an intensity that is sadly lacking in the sequels.

I like all 3 Evil Dead movies, but the first is my favourite.

wow.  Tough choice!  All three movies have certain beaming qualities that can respected.  Evil Dead: The whole tree raping scene.
Evil Dead II: The perfect blend of humor and horror "Someone's in my fruit cellar!"
Army of Darkness:  Zany humor, and just an all around fun movie.

But i would have to say my favorite one is Evil Dead II.  I love the whole eyeball in the mouth scene.
