Sony Godzilla DVD Set

I managed to get my hands on this and must say that, while it is cheap ($30 - $40 for 5 movies), the quality is lacking.  The last time some of these movies were released they had widescreen versions on the discs.  This time all the movies are 1.33:1 and the quality might be a little less than that of the older Simitar releases.

Bottom line is that if you have the Simitar discs, just buy "Rodan" on DVD.  The print of it is okay (it still seems worse than my LD) and the giant flying monster is well worth $10.

It's a shame they can't do justice to any godzilla movies on dvd. The old simitar set I have is a very good job considering simitar was brand that seemed bottom of the barrel. I'm impressed by the dvds in that set, all of them look great, except for terror of mechagodzilla which is full screen. I think I'll pass on this new set, not sure if I'd even want rodan on dvd, the tape seems fine enough for that. I'll look around I do think I saw the covers to these somewhere online.

If it isn't widescreen it isn't worth a hill of beans to me.
