I have an shocking announcement for you guys and gals. Ready? It's pretty amazing.....

Wishmaster 4, the sequel to the godawful 2nd and 3rd sequels to the ok original movie(depending on who you talk to) is ...actually pretty good. That's right. The story is fun, the wishes are interesting and more realistic (i.e. someone doesn't say "I wish" every 5 seconds) and there is some  nice nudity (if that's what you want) and some good acting. Amazing, I know.

I agree, it was a pleasant surprise, except that stripper was reeeealllly ugly.
I liked the storyline, the novelty of a wish that couldn't be granted, and the acting.
However, the Hunter subplot was totally lame, and some of the wishes were just not handled well...("i wish i were a pimple on her ass").....

Still, this is a decent 2 1/2 slime flick.

While watching the original, I couldn't help wondering why the main character (or anyone) would have trouble coming up with a wish that would get the best of the Djinn, once they knew what he was.

"I wish that you would count every sub-atomic particle in the universe at the rate of one particle every 900,000,000,000,000,000 millenia and inbetween counts, you will spend your idle time in the center of the nearest sun."

Probably not impossible for him, but by the time he finished there probably wouldn't be any life left in the universe.

well, yeah, but the average person is likely either gonna be overcome with fear or greed if offered a wish. I know I likely would.

In my opinion, the Wishmaster series is among one of the best from the 90s and up. All of them are what most B-movie fans want, there is tons og yummy gore and we get an interesting plot and villian.

Wishmaster is an orginal set piece of work, it holds many great scenes and the deaths are clever. The ending was smart and Divoff played the role of the evil Djinn better than anyone has yet to.  * * * 1/2 out of * * * *

Wishmaster 2 is the entertaining fluff, there is tons of action and while the acting was weak, Divoff raises the bar with his character and the film delivers interesting performances in gore and Sholder in the directing chair had some great shots in. * * * out of * * * *

Wishmaster 3 is the weak entry, it has many problems but there is still enough gore and boobs to keep everyone happy. Divoff has left and it hurts because Novak (the Djinn) or anyne else could not fill his shoes. okay for the fans of teen demon flicks. * * out of * * * *

I like the series and four is top of my list right at the moment.
