I recently caught and would recommend Shoalin Invincibles and The Cavalier, both featuring Taiwanese actress Leung Jun Er, both made for the same nickel.

One Armed Boxer 2 aka The One Armed Boxer vs The Fying Guilotine, and Born Invincible starring Carter Wong (the inflatable "storm" in Big Trouble In Little China) are excellent low budget manic kung fu flicks.
I reckon they returned some empty bottles to raise the cash for these babies. Both are far superior to anything Jackie Chan has come up with.

Chan is huge every where in the world but here (US).   Generally, I can't stand him, but I saw one of his action things on the big screen and it was pretty impressive.  I think it was Supercop 2.  Those movies you named are ill.  I read once where they used to call carter Wong "Watermelon" or something because he was so stupid.   he's in shaolin invincibles too.  I'm from the old school in general though.  my theory is that "Godfather" ruined action movies.  instead of bang bang bang it became these long drawn out solilioquies and so forth.  bi budgets, taking a year to make a movie etc.  not to discredit Godfather.
