If you like movies then A KNIGHTS TALE is a good one. The director, story, modern music, actors, etc. really come together in this modern twist to knights of the middle ages. Some really great scenes. The director really put together an interesting film. I also really enjoy historic films, A KNIGHTS TALE strays from a straight historical film to make a truely entertaining and inspirational film set in a different time period. I really enjoyed this film especially after seeing a disappointing THE MUMMY'S RETURN last week

Entertainment: 5 out of 5 stars.

Yeah, I thought this was a great film too.

First movie, I ever saw Heath Ledger in too, he's a pretty damn good actor. Jousting must be fun as hell, but painful as f**k. Those lances just f**king exploded all over the place. HOLY S**T!!

But I also enjoyed The Mummy Returns. Yes, it wasn't has good has the first, but I found mindlessly entertaining. Only beef, the sound system in the theater was cranked up so loud, the sound effects drowned out the vocal tracks.

Ledger was also in THE PATRIOT last summer.  A KNIGHTS TALE is a film I would have in my collection if I had the money and it is definately will be one of the best films of the summer. All the actors and actresses were good. It will be interesting to see if anyone can come out with a regular historical drama about medievel times and knights without thinking about A KNIGHTS TALE?

The story is has romance, action, inspiration, rock and roll, comedy, and great characters. The director did a great job. He hit the mark.

My favorite scenes were the banquet dance, returning to London, the writers speeches, the female lead, and the whole change the stars idea. Well done movie.

As Scott said. See this film. Enjoy this film. But, do not consider this film anything near to being historical. (Warning! Much of what follows is off the top of my head.) Not only is the music anachronistic (Wince!), but much of the dialog was updated to appeal to today's moviegoer. You could love a woman. You could mourn her passing. But, treat a woman as equal. Never happen. The question would never even arise. The filmmakers also got wrong the relationship between master and servant. But filmmakers are usually screwing that one up. Talking about servants . . . Jocelyn's retinue was too small. Only one maidservant? She would most likely have a couple of women her age, so she would have someone to talk to. Depending how old she was, she might have a couple of younger girls, learning to be ladies. And a older woman to oversee everything. She would have a father confessor to hear her confession. And a couple of boys--pageboys. They would be the ones to run her messages back and forth between her and Sir Ulrich. A woman--like her--go out alone and unescorted. Never happen. Too much chance of being spotted and creating a scandal. And that is only the nobility. She would also have a number of peasant girls to do the dirty work. What else is wrong with the film. The costumes are more or less acceptable, except, those worn by Jocelyn, especially her hats. But, the hairstyles--both men's and women's--were wrong. The armour was more or less correct, except, at the end, when some of it seemend wrong. And why they would get it wrong, after so much of it seemed correct, I cannot say. That is not to say, that all of it was historically incorrect, some of it seemed to be correct. That I will get to later.
