The topic is movies that aren't good, but you've seen many, many times.

I think I was part of the first generation that had VCR's.  That means I've seen tons of bad movies over and over just because I had recorded them on tape.

Sure, HAMBURGER: THE MOTION PICTURE was great.  TROLL was good too, right?  And how about the Anthony Edwards thriller GOTCHA?  Excellent, right?

And God bless HBO.  Why else would I have watched THE LEGEND OF BILLIE JEAN so many goddamned times?  Pat Benatar's "Invincible" is burned in my brain.

Bad movies.  Somebody somewhere should have stopped me.

Well, I guess the cutish Helen Slater has something to do with you watching the movie so many times. My favourite bit is when Christian Slater dresses up as her to cheat somebody. I almost fall from the couch.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

My favorite part is right at the start when she hops on the back of the bike and shows that the costume budget was too small to afford underwear. :)

Well, I was hoping people would tell me about movies they've seen a ton of times, even though they're not very good.

I could tell you why I've seen THE LEGEND OF BILLIE JEAN so many times though.

I thought it was cool.

Yup, it was on HBO tons of times when I was a kid.  I was too young to realize that this faux rebellion was in actuality incredibly lame.  I got the high of "coolness" while watching it when I was 10.

Now I've seen it since then.  "Fair is fair" is not a good catchphrase.

Bonus points, the goofy eighties looking guy, Keith Gordon, has actually turned into a fairly good director.

I've seen Super Mario Bros., Double Dragon, and every pre-Maximum Risk Van Damme movie so many times...

I've seen Night of the Creeps quite a few times. Also, the various Critters movies.

Back in the 80s, when movies were still expensive and I only had access to one VCR, a friend and I rented a VCR and three or four movies to run off a couple of dubs for ourselves. For a couple of kids in their early teens without a credit card or a car, getting the VCR involved putting down a healthy deposit and lugging a box across town on foot (we didn't involve our parents, because we were doing something illegal), so we didn't do any more dubbing for a couple of years, when he had a VCR he could bring over to my place and a car to bring it in. We also figured out that our parents really weren't all that concerned if we copied a few movies for ourselves. I eventually got a nice collection of three-movie tapes that have since been shoved aside by pre-recorded movies.

Anyway, as a result of the first dubbing experiment, I had a copy of Megaforce that I must have watched half a dozen times. I suppose this was partly because it was a fun movie and partly because I was proud of how I got it, but mainly because I didn't have many movies on tape.

Eliminators was another movie that got repeated viewings, after I taped it off TV.
