I again wish to address a topic that all of us have thought of at one time or another.

OUR APPROACHING DEATH.

After you are dead and your body is being lowered into the ground (if that's what you choose) what song would you like to be played to remember you by?

I choose "Take A Picture" by Filter.

I'm sure you've all had that particular vision....of those people mourning you at your funeral and you're seeing it as a kind of out of body experience.

You're behind and above them.

Looking down.

At them.

Then you zoom closer and examine their faces close up to see their tears and hope that the song you've selected will stain their memories forever.

Some songs are meant for just that type of reason.

What's yours?

Pretty freaky topic, I'd pick an old woman with a casket by pink floyd with Syd Barrett. Think it would fit quite possibly.

To keep the situation light "Hope that I get old before I die" by They Might Be Giants would be something that I'd want played

This post is at a very awkward time...

JR, a member here, is dying (if he hasn't already passed), correct?
My friend Timmay's 2-monther since his death is this Tuesday.
My friend Jeff was in a car wreck Friday night, and probably won't make it.

That said, I only want 2 songs played:
Shadows Fall - "To Ashes"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Freebird"

Sid Vicious' version of "My Way." If you're gonna go out, go out with a bang.

I suppose it would be in bad taste to suggest "Another One Bites the Dust"?

I would have to say "Song for the Road" by Tanglefoot, or "Deep Peace" or "Stagnant" by Devin Townsend.

Ya know, after I wrote this thread I remembered J.R.'s current personal battle he's fighting right now.

I thought, "Oh s**t, maybe I shouldn't have wrote that." and indeed felt bad.

I almost deleted this post for that very reason but decided not to because it is a post about thoughts most all of us have had.

I feel like apologizing for being somewhat insensitive but I won't.

This is real life and I won't say I'm sorry for that.

I'd actually like to hear J.R.'s feelings on this.

Mine would be either "Gagged, Shagged, and Bodybagged" by Gore Rotted or "Can I Take My Gun Up to Heaven" by Cracker.

Or maybe the entire Throbbing Gristle catalog to p**s people off.

I plan to have myself incinerated (once dead, that is). If there is to be music playing while this happens, I'd prefer Pink Floyd's "Confortably numb" to AC/DC's "Highway to Hell".

"Big Gig in the Sky" by Pink Floyd and "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult

Glad to see you thought about J.R., ASH. I kind of thought the same thing.

Jerusalem by Sleep, it's a 52 minute stoner rock song.  Not that great but I'm dead so let them sit through it......... I want midgets there too.
