I don't care, I'll be dead.  Let my family and friends pick something to listen to that reminds them of what they want to remember of me.

Maybe something they's pick would surprise me

Maybe I am the buzzkill, but I typically imagined a little known insrumental by Sting called "I miss you Kate".

Quite haunting.

Another good one would be "A Tout Le Monde" by Megadeth.

Thought I'd "resurrect" this thread, seeing as everyone was saying what songs they'd have in the "go out in a more eco-friendly way" thread.

I think this song is unquestionably apt for lil' 'ol me. In a few simple verses, Rob Halford pretty much sums up my lack of faith and indifference for the world. Plus, the guitar solo at the end is f**king epic!

Wow!  A seven year old thread.
It's funny because I barely remember writing half of these. (this one included)
I would just crank 'em out...one right after the other.

The weird thing about this thread is that my younger brother died in a motorcycle accident seven months after I wrote it and I remember the songs that were played at his funeral.

I've already told my family I want "Skalds and Shadows" by Blind Guardian played for me.  After a brief ceremony I want them to have a party and play lots of music, but that is the one I want at the funeral.

I would also like my family and friends to have a party instead of a traditional funeral.
I would like them to consider it a celebration of my life.

As for songs:

I can think of a massive amount but two really good ones might be:

Small | Large

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen

Small | Large

Mr. Blue Sky - Electric Light Orchestra

By the way when I die I want to be shot out of a cannon into a brick wall, stuffed and posed like an angry bear, or mounted on the wall like a fish.

Sea of Tranquility - Kool and the Gang

First time I heard it I knew I wanted this one to send me off. The ending makes your head nod.

I always tell my wife to play the Iowa State fight song at my funeral.  I insist on standing everytime it is played.  So if they play it at my funeral, and I don't stand up, that means I must really be dead.
