Must-see MST.

Donald Pleasance, dressed in tight leather/vinyl bondage gear (ack), uses an Aztec mask to rule men's minds. A big "Aztec" oaf convinces a spindly, whiny "man" that he is the descendant of the original "Pumaman," complete with a silly outfit and dumb powers. Amazingly incompetent special effects and acting fill in the rest.

"Infra-Man" would kick "Puma-Man"s ass to shreds in fifteen seconds, but "Pumaman" has the more revolting theme song. Does that constitute a tie?

Ahh, but you forget....Pumaman had an Aztec Priest and a magic belt.  Also, Donald Pleasance and his papier mache heads were no match for Pumaman's awesome flying abilities and ability to hop around a lot.

Director Albert Martino has done some lousy work in the past, but this is a REAL low for him.  I mean,  Holocaust 3000 (that Omen rip-off with a naked Kirk Douglas) and Invasion of the Fish Men (reviewed a few weeks ago on this site) are terrible, but they aren't utterly incomptent and shoddy like this film is. Maybe we should hold a poll: which movie features the worst flying scenes- this one or Supersonic Man?

Brrr...thanks for the trivia; didn't know "Holocaust 2000," "Screamers," and "Pumaman" were all related. Eyargh.

The villian of "Supersonic Man" (everyone, picture a green-skinned Italian version of Superman, with a moustache) is Cameron Mitchell ("Captain Santa" of "Space Munity" infamy) at his worst; I think he trumps Donald Pleasance a bit. However, Pumaman's hippety-hop and butt-flying are definitely worse than anything I remember from "SSM," though it's been a long time...

Pumaman's sidekick....I forget his name...ya know the Aztec priest guy...well he makes a brief appearance in Blow w/Johnny Depp. He plays a henchmen for a drug dealer. I also think I saw him briefly in a trailer for The Mexican w/Julia Roberts. At least he's still able to get work(albeit non-speaking roles) despite his association with Pumaman.

Btw I own copies of both Pumaman and Supersonic Man and Pumaman gets my vote for worst flying sequence....chris

Oh...Lord...Does this film reek or what? That Nebbish the Aztec guy picked to be pumaman...he should have held a casting call at the nearest computer seminar..."Hey, any you geeks want be pumaman? Help get girls!"...And Donald P. How many cheeseballs has he been in? Has some one got a list of the great(?) B-movie co-stars? He should be a top five contender, surley.

Well, we have pumaman on tape. My brother decided to do an animation staring Vedhinio (sp?) and Thepumaman. Thepumaman Jumped around a lot and Vedhinio did all the work. Even though he was using a program that only lets you use precreated characters and prescripted actions, and the characters didn't really look like Vedhinio or Thepumaman, the impersonation was right on. It was positivly uncanny. I wish you all could see it.

So, both Thepumaman and the Mutant in this island earth are wear slacks. Are there in other supposedly heroic and/or horrific people in movies who wear slacks?
