I finally found the B-Movie I was looking for.  It came from the same country that brought us pasta, gladiators, and Mussolini.  Yes, it is an Italian flick called Cosmos: War of the Planets.  The plot of the movie is laughable and the lines are even worse ("We've got to talk to them! Use all forms of communication! Use the radio if you have to!"), but if you can get it cheap, you will laugh your butt off and thank God that the only thing the Italians have good taste in is fashion (though you wouldn't know it from what they wore in this movie)

I just saw this movie for the first time last night...good grief! This is about the worst science fiction film I have ever seen! I loved it! They must have saved a fortune on the budget through lack of any proper lighting....several parts were so dark it was impossible to tell what was going on. The dialog was tragic and that sex ball thing....how romantic. :teddyr:
Yes,I'm fine....as long as I don't look too closely.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

The Burgomaster

I love watching cheap, Italian sci-fi movies like this . . . especially after 11:00 p.m. on a Friday or Saturday night.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Pacman000

I first saw that movie on a DVD 4-pack.  After it ended the next movie, Assignment: Outer Space, started.  Assignment: Outer Space isn't exactly cream of the crop, but in the wake of Cosmos almost anything looks good.

Have you seen the two other space operas made by the same director?  They're reviewed on this site.

What is it with the felt hats? Why always with the felt hats in these movies? I've seen both of these, starting when I was very young. It's amazing how much better they get when you understand that they are crap :)
