The Image Entertainment website has just put up the company's slate for June, and included are their first two double bill DVDs of K. Gordon Murray movies. (This, as usual, in conjunction with Something Weird.)

Brainiac / The Witch's Mirror

Synopsis: Condemned by the Holy Inquisition, bad baron Vitelius is burned at the stake - but not after vowing revenge on his accusors' descendants. 300 years later, the Baron rides a meteor to earth and transforms into The Brainiac, a monster complete with a pulsating head and a forked, tube-like tongue which he uses to suck the brains out of the skulls of both his enemies and an assortment of vivacious young women. Plus, Helen Hanley ignores warnings about The Witch's Mirror and is murdered by evil hubby Edward, who replaces her with Wife #2, the lovely Deborah. But Helen enjoys revenge in death when her ghost terrifies Deborah into going up in flames. With his new bride now looking like burnt toast, Edward attempts to make her beautiful again with the skin from stolen cadavers. The surgery almost works until he unknowingly gives Debbie his late wife's husband-hating hands... Two wonderfully bizarre, cockeyed cult horrors from Mexico, best summed up by a stunned detective who exclaims, "My eyes see it but all my logic says it cannot be true!"

Extras: TV Spots for "The Brainiac," "The Witch's Mirror," "The Blood of Nostradamus," "The Curse of the Crying Woman," "The Genie of Darkness," "The Invasion of the Vampires," "The Living Head," "Phantom in the Red House," "Samson vs. the Vampire Women," and "The Vampire;" Chill-O-Rama Trailers for "The Black Pit of Dr. M," "Creature of the Walking Dead," "Face of the Screaming Werewolf," "Little Red Riding Hood and the Monsters," and the combo "The Vampire's Coffin" & "Robot vs. the Aztec Mummy." "The Wonder World of K. Gordon Murray" Booklet; Episodes of the Monster Musical Kiddie TV Show, "Ghoul A-Go-Go;" Gallery of Exploitation Art for The K. Gordon Murray Collection with Music by the Chiller Theatre house band, The Dead Elvi!

Doctor of Doom / Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy

Synopsis: Women wrestlers, monsters, and mad doctors; in other words, two perfect motion pictures! Though he has already created a half man-half ape named Gomar, a mad doctor's experiments on female brain transplants have been failures. Why? "The brains come from totally uneducated women!" But the Doctor of Doom quickly zeroes in on "a stronger type of woman" in the form of gorgeous wrestling pals Gloria Venus and Golden Rubi, sending Gomar and his henchmen to abduct them. After Gloria throws acid in his face, the doc, disfigured and crazier than ever, puts Gomar's gorilla brain into the body of one of Gloria's galpals to create "Vendetta," a Superhuman Wrestling Woman whose goal is to kill Gloria in the ring! Plus, Gloria Venus (now renamed Loretta) and Golden Rubi are back to crack the heads of an Asian gang led by a Fu Manchu-like character known as "The Black Dragon," who's killing off archaeologists in hops of discovering the Treasure of the Aztecs. Entering a tomb and discovering the living remains of a mummified witch doctor who can also change himself into a spider and bat, it time for the main event: The Wrestling Women vs. the Aztec Mummy!

No special features currently listed.

Amazingly, and this might be a mistake, but the listed suggested price is only $20 for each disc, meaning they'd be available for $15 or less. (I'm thinking a $25 suggested price would be more likely.)

Many more of these are supposedly in the pipe. Along with the company that announced the collection of Santos discs in the original Spanish (with English subtitles) this is about the coolest thing ever.
