If one wants to see Peck in a western, besides the ones named by Scott, here are some more of them.
Duel in the Sun Or, as it was known around Hollywood, "Lust in the Dust." The film with seven directors, besides the credited King Vidor, Otto Bower, William Dieterle, Sidney Franklin, William Cameron Menzies, Josef Von Sternbert, and the producer David Ol Selznick had a hand at directing it. But, the cast can hardly be beat. Jennifer Jones, Joseph Cotten, Lionel Barrymore, Herbert Marshall, Lillian Gish, Walter Huston, Charles Bickford, Harry Carey, Butterfly McQueen, Otto Kruger, Sidney Blackmer, and Orson Welles as the narrator.
Yellow Sky Anne Baxter, Richard Widmark, Harry Morgan, Jay Silverheels, and Hank Worden.
Only the Valiant Reportedly, Peck's least favorite film, but, one that I enjoyed. The climatic Indian attack is something to see. With, Ward Bond, Gig Young, Neville Brand, Jeff Corey, Michael Ansara, and Lon Chaney, Jr. as an Arab.
The Big Country Jean Simmons, Carroll Baker, Charlton Heston, Burl Ives, Charles Bickford, and Chuch Connors.
Enjoy them all. I did.
