I was going through my collection of movies recently and started thinking about the difference between a "Film" and a "Flick".  Feel free to list any of your favorite films on this thread and mark which category they fall into.

Donnie Darko-Film-Beautifully shot, true to life characters, and an evil bunny!

Boondock Saints-Film-Although this could be considered a flick (lotsa action), I'm putting it donw as a film due to the pure lightheartedness and energy that oozes out of the film.

Death Race 2000-Flick-This is one of those movies where you just turn your mind off and go with the flow.  Exteremly fun movie.

Freddy Got Fingered-Film-Yeah, this one is a suprise, isn't it!?  Tom Green proved to be a very competent director with this film.  Behind all of the gross out jokes, there was quite a bit of genuis....

Fight Club-Film/Flick-The mecca of modern cinema.  Witty, funny, depressing, and sometimes scary.  Has enough intelligence to keep you thinking and enough action to make it fall into the FLICK category.

Feel Free To Post!

I'll post more when I have time (working now).

* SHAFT (original version) - Film - Gritty cinematography does a great job capturing the atmosphere of the bars, tenements, and sidewalks of Harlem.

* DOLEMITE - Flick - Fun blaxploitation movie, but the production values are pretty rough around the edges.

* THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES - Flick - Great example of an early 1970s, AIP drive-in movie. A Vincent Price classic.

* THE THING WITH TWO HEADS - Flick - Rosey Grier and Ray Milland in another AIP drive-in classic. Does it get any better than this?

In my opinion, "films" are best viewed between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., while "flicks" are best viewed between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m.
