Invasion - poverty row Brit sci-fi flick (1965) - An alien spaceship crash-lands in the English countryside, conveniently close to a small hospital. A male alien is found and brought to the hospital unconscious. He's of oriental appearance so we immediately know he is not-of-this-earth. When he comes round he claims to have been travelling to a prison-planet to dump two alien criminals there (female). The first time anyone tries to leave the hospital, it is discovered that an invisible force-field has been thrown around the immediate area. Meanwhile we are treated to endless shots of two female oriental persons (obviously aliens due to them being of oriental appearance) wandering around the hospital grounds looking very shifty indeed. When they finally suss that the male alien is in the hospital, they tell the staff (about 4 people on duty that night) that HE is the prisoner, and they are his guards. Needless to say this movie is high on p**s-poor dialogue and extremely low on any physical action. Add to this plenty of stock-footage, and grade Z SFX. It's worth watching simply to see the unthinking racism, the very moderate acting (the orientals speak cliche Chinese - "He is our plisoner") the usual bumbling Brit police and army (you can count the cast on two hands) and the laughable final "take-off"). This has to be the cheapest "alien invasion" in filmdom.
