I have a question about the swearing.

I don't ever cuss out other members of the board.  I think the main problem is that I realize that I am not my entertainment choices.  I can live with somebody insulting a movie I like if they do not like it.

But I do enjoy swearing quite a bit.  It's a part of my everyday vocabulary when I am talking with friends.

Still, I do not load the board with obscenity laden posts.  Mostly because nobody else really does.  But nobody minds if I pepper my posts with them now and then, do they?  Some jokes just don't work if I don't throw in some well seasoned curses.

So I can swear safely right?  I don't do well when I must censor my gutter mouth.

I occasionally  throw in some cussing, but too much looks childish, as though the poster doesn't have anything else to say (and I'm only talking in generalities here, it applies to all aspects of life).

The ending of Gone with the Wind, where Rhett says "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" is much more effective because it is the only cussing in the movie (and actually was controversial itself, in 1939).

Richard Pryor was able to get away with being foul mouthed because of the time he grew up in.  Eddie Murphy, and now Chris Rock, just seem derivative.  Come up with a joke, don't just say "f**k" to get a reaction.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now.

----which is why they filmed an alternate scene where Gable says, "Frankly my dear,  I don't care."
