You all seem pretty superhumanly adept at helping people with this unique kind of problem, so I humbly submit to your greater minds for help with this matter.

 I am desperately seeking:
 Lookingup

Question Very rare movie that is scifi/dystopian/experimental/surreal. It's like Stalker meets el Topo meets Holy Mountain meets Alphaville meets Delicatessen meets Hard to be a God, like Kurosawa, Tarkovsky, and Lynch had a kid together. It was color, possibly Russian, and I don't really remember the decade but want to say 60s or 70s, though could easily be more recent. It is VERY rare, there is only one crappy partial print of it, and that is what the youtube version is from. Lot of wide shots in a surreal wilderness, winter settings, strange bleeding saturation in some shots. Crazy costumes. Seriously one of the strangest films I've ever seen and my favorite films are strange/weird ones.

If you've ever seen what you're thinking of on a "best weird movies" or "you've never seen this!" list, that's NOT it. I don't think this film even has a cult following of ten people. It's an actual rare gem. Have been looking through selections at 366 Weird Movies and not found it yet (btw the way most of those titles are exactly the kind of not-actually-rare movies this film is definitely not).  Question

Thanks, cinephiles! hot

I was wondering if this isn't perhaps the Russian film Stalker?

I used to say I live my life a quarter mile at a time and I think that's why we were brothers- because you did, too. No matter where you are, whether it's a quarter mile away or half way across the world. The most important thing in life will always be the people in this room. Salute mi familia. You'll always be with me... And you'll always be my brother.

Yah,  I said it had some qualities of Stalker in my post...  But it's far more outlandish than understated as Stalker is.  Not to mention Stalker is like in the top ten most famous auteur movies of all time and the film I am looking for is super rare...  The film scan (only one in existence) looks utter garbage, almost unwatcheable,  compared to the pristine quality of Stalker scans. The film I am looking for has only been scanned once as there is either only one print or a few partial prints that were pieced together, and the film is believed to not be complete,  but the closest achievable full version.  Additionally,  the costumes looked like RAN on acid.  I don't think it's by a famous director either,  but by like a guy who Crtierion level cinephiles might know who has a very scant filmography. It may even be the director's only accomplished feature.

Found it!

Famous director, not complete because the film was never completed.  Also not Russian.

I thought for sure it was KIN DZA-DZA, much more obscure than ON THE SILVER GLOBE.

"The basic plot is that Donna Speir and Hope Marie Carlton, the two undercover DEA agent Playboy Playmates from the last movie, are still running around in jungle shorts, cowboy boots and spaghetti strap T-shirts, firing their machine guns at drug smugglers, Filipino communist guerrillas, and corrupt federal agents while their two friends, Lisa London and Miss May 1984 Patty Duffek, lounge around the pool a lot and talk on speaker phones that look like fax machines."-Joe Bob on SAVAGE BEACH
