Was watching American Nightmare** last night for about the millionth time.  One of the scenes has a clip of a flick of an evil baby with huge teeth.  My wife asked me if I had ever seen that flick, and that she had seen it as a kid.  I was at a complete loss, thinking it might be It's Alive.  The plot doesn't sound like that though.

My wife said that the film she remembers was about a monster/deformed baby.   The mother feeds people to it, and in the end feeds herself to it.  It seems that I have heard of this film before, but can't quite place it.  If anyone can help out, please do cause I want to rent this movie!

**-If you haven't seen American Nightmare, then you don't know what your missing.  IFC documentary all about horror films.  Everything from the wolfman to Videodrome.  Interviews with Lynch, Romero, Savini, John Landis, and various professionals in the field.  I'm such a sucker for documentaries.

The IMdB is a wonderful source of information.  One of its pages lists movies associated with American Nightmare.  So if you have any other questions about the documentary, you can check it out.

My guess, judging by who's involved, is that the movie you're asking about is The Brood.  While the description you gave doesn't match it, it comes close (See Spoiler note below).

That, and none of the other movies on the list match AT ALL.  (It's Alive isn't listed, by the by)

SPOILER NOTE FOR THE BROOD:

The mother in question is using her "children" to kill people.  Like I said, close, but...

Thanks Cullen.

I use the IMDB constantly, great site.

Looked in the features section but am still not quite sure what flick that is.

They could have easily missed something.  Even the IMdB fails.

Good luck with your search.

It's not what you say, it's how you say it.

It's definitely not THE BROOD.  The movie is nothing like Skaboi described.

I still say it's a little (very little) like The Brood.  Plus it really is the only movie there remotely close to the description.  (Unless Spookies is it...)

I would guess THE BROOD.  Was it an actual baby or was it a toddler in a snowsuit?   The movie has a lot of Cronenberg footage, though I guess it could be IT'S ALIVE since that came out in the same time period covered by the documentary.

"The Kindred" maybe?

I'm not 100% because I haven't seen it for years.

Here's the IMDB link for it:  http://us.imdb.com/Title?0091343

Also...look below on the thread list....I started one about "The Evil Within..AKA "Baby Blood.

That might be it.

I suppose there is some resemblance, but as jmc noted, most of the Brood are about age 5, though the mother does give birth to another baby towards the end of the film.  I don't remember it having oversized teeth however.  And although the Brood do kill, they never eat anyone.  It still think it's a false lead.

I've seen American Nightmare but I don't recall the scene in question.
