I have seen this movie a few times, but it has been a few years since I last watched it.

I just bought the DVD at Walmart (for under $10) and watched it this afternoon (it rained all day here in the Boston area).

I have always considered this to be one of my 10 or 15 favorite westerns . . . but I guess I forgot how really good this movie is. It seems as though Sergio Leone meticulously crafted every scene . . . in fact, every SHOT. I was mesmerized watching this movie. I think it just streaked into my 5 favorite westerns list. I'm so sorry that I let so many years go by since the last time I watched it.

I had to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening.

I used to like this one a great deal, but, for whatever reasons, it has lost its appeal for me.  Oh, I'll watch it again (tastes do change, after all).  If nothing else, then for that last gunfight.

Right now, I think Fistful of Dollars is a better movie.  Just my preference, of course...

One of my favourite westerns as well. I imagine it is difficult not to find it in everyone's westerns top ten. I re-watched a few months ago in a re-mastered DVD edition (no new footage) and was blown away completely again. What I enjoyed this time was how the nameless killers from previous Leone westerns had evolved to become complex, round characters. I specially enjoyed moments such as Tucco's reunion with his brother, or his monologue about him with Eastwood's character. Others, such as the battle between north and south soldiers or the final duel at the graveyard had already carved a confortable lair on my head before, but won me again inmediately.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I have the DVD with the deleted scenes. They are actually pretty good, especially one in which Tuco taunts Clint with a bucket of water while Clint is suffering in the desert.

The only problem is, the deleted scenes were never translated into English, so all the dialogue is in Italian, with no subtitles!

Look for Once Upon a Time in the West.  It is the equal of The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.  The theme is even just as good.  Incredible movie, I paid almost $40 for my laserdisc of it and never regretted it.

I saw it years ago on VHS. I wish they would release it on DVD. I'd buy it in a second!

I think you can get the subtitles if you tinker with your DVD's subtitle function, but they don't show them automatically.

I can't tell you how many times I've watch TBTBATU and I never get tired of it.  Morricone's score is one of the best ever written too.

Leone's classic ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA is now out on DVD. I'll be buying it very soon!
