I see that Anchor Bay is going to release Def Con 4 next week on DVD - has anyone seen this film? I remeber seeing the box at a video store when I was a kid, never rented it - but it sounds kinda cool. If anyone knows anything about, please let me know if it's any good.

Thanks!

i have an old tape...watched it about a year ago...without
getting specific, i don't remember the exact story but as
you know it's about the end of the world and a crew that is
in space when the bombs drop...then they return home.

it's an interesting premise and the movie sustains it pretty
well.

for what it's worth, i don't think it's bad...about what you'd expect but
better than you might think...my non-B-movie fan roommate
sat through it and kinda dug it...more so than some of the other
junk i dominate the tv with...

...i'll take def con 4 over bloated crap like armagedon or ID4 any day...

Standard forgettable 80s low-budget "post-apocalypse" fare, but without battle cars.

Trivia: portions of the score were lifted and used by New World Pictures for the end titles of the Americanized version of "Godzilla 1985."
