The Terminator
RoboCop
Predator
Nausicaa
Warriors of the Wasteland

Those are five examples of movies I consider to be absolutely perfect.  Nothing -- nothing -- could improve upon them and I never, ever, get tired of them.

What are some of yours?

Certainly not many:

Chinatown

Blade Runner

Apocalypse Now Redux

Spirited Away

Robocop

The outlaw Josey Whales

Conan the Barbarian

Cop

2001

Unforgiven

The bulk of my favourite list are movies that are *almost* perfect, like Minority Report, LA Confidential or most Eastwood westerns.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

Star Wars (the original -- it could stand by itself, without the sequels/prequels/nightquels)

The only one that springs to mind is the Godfather and Jaws.  Both are flawless, or as close to it as possible.  The Godfather isn't really a favorite of mine though.

Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.

Also, not really the same thing, but Plan 9 From Outer Space is the "perfect" b-movie.

Fight Club-By far the best film in my collection.  A strange story with a strange nameless hero.  Great stuff!

Se7en-Can anyone see that I like Fincher's stuff?

American Beauty-Awesome film.  I was AMAZED by this film when it first came out.  Love, hate, humor, heart.

Bowling For Columbine-I can honestly say this film is perfect.  Having been a Michael Moore fan for years, this flick is his crowning achievment.  Moore can perfectly mix humor with scenes of desperation and pain like no other.

Ghost World-Saw this film about a year ago when it first came out on DVD.  Watched it last night and remembered just how great it was.  Not exactly perfect, more near perfect.
