I just got the new "best of" compilation of Deadbolt (a hilarious psychobilly band from California), and it ocurred to me that it would probably appeal to the b-movie set, with titles like "Zulu Death Mask" and "Twang Zombie." What are some other musical equivalents of b-movies, either because they're "so bad they're good" (The Shaggs, William Shatner, Wesley Willis) or because they share a similar aesthetic?

Brad fiedels music for the terminator in my opinion, falls into this catagory of being so bad its good. Unfortunately the music isnt easy to get out of your head, like the many bad gamera songs.

Dude...the TERMINATOR theme rules...as does the ROBOCOP theme...

Wow...3 posts (including the starting one) and no mention of the kings of b-movie related music, THE MISFITS? For shame!

Rob Zombie also bases a lot of his songs (from White as well) on old b-movies. Hell, WHITE ZOMBIE is the name of an old movie. And Rob's hit song "Living Dead Girl" is also the name of a b-grade zombie flick.

Rob's brother's band, PowerMan 5000, bases a lot of their songs on old comic books and sci-fi flicks.

Bastard, you used my example, the Nekromantix.  They rock.  Who Killed the Cheerleader is my favorite song of theirs, I think.

If you like Who Killed the Cheerleader by Nekromantix, you should hear Technicolor Nightmare, Bloody Holiday or Monster Movie Fan, or just buy one of their cds.
Also any psychobilly band-Nekromantix, Mad Sin, Demeted Are Go, Small Town Pimps, Asmodeus, and a bunch of other bands that I like.

My #1 pick would have to be Rocket From The Grave.

Great little rockabilly/ska/punk/hardcore band that sings mainly about the old horror icons I.E. Dracula, etc.  Really catchy stuff.

Someone else mentioned The Scientist.  First got my taste of his music in Grand Theft Auto 3.  Fantastic style.

Also, Vermin Boy mentioned Wesley Willis who is another favorite of mine.  How awesome is it to listen to a 300 pound black guy who thinks he has demons in his head sing?

"I WHOOPED BATMAN'S ASSSSS!"-Rock On Wesley!

If you like Wesley Willis, try to track down some stuff by Wild Man Fischer, a similarly insane street singer discovered and produced by Frank Zappa in the 60s (and later Barnes & Barnes).

Rock over London. Rock on, Chicago.

My buddy bought this really cheap cd (like 2 for 2 dollars or something crazy like that) and one of the bands was called Gaye Bikers on Acid.  It was the weirdest and most awful music i had ever heard in my life.  They are definetly B-music, with the most B-Movie (or X-rated movie) title ever!

Yup, you're right Bro R.

I usually type these posts around 7 in the morning when I first get to work.  Sometimes things get jumbled.
