Last night was a fantastic night for me.  I finally caught R.O.T.O.R. in all it's horrible glory and saw Akira uniterrupted for the first time.

R.O.T.O.R. is bad.  R.O.T.O.R. is horrible.
I Love R.O.T.O.R.!

Having read a review of this flick a couple of months ago, I jumped at the chance to watch it.  It's a blatant rip off of Robocop + The Terminator, and has quite possibly the worst acting I've ever seen in my life.  The story is that a police research team in Dallas creates a super robot.  They name it R.O.T.O.R..  They decide to fit the chassis with a body so that it looks like a real cop.  This was disappointing as hell because when they first show the robot it looks hilarious.  It was obviously a small robot figure being moved with strings.

Well, R.O.T.O.R. escapes, and decides to take on the evil criminals of Dallas.  This consists of a couple who is speeding.....and he gives the driver the death sentence...  Yeah, wow, right?  So what is the point of watching this film.

Two Things:

A. The Acting is horrible!  Quite possibly the worst dubbing I've seen in an American film.  Was actually slightly painful sometimes.

B. Comic Relief-The CR in this flick consists of another robot cop.  This one isn't made to look human.  It's basically a black plastic box with a tube running to what looks like a painted retro tv.  Not only is this robot a cop, he's also a smooth talker with the ladies and dances with the janitor!  Rock On RobotCop!  It's really sad though when the comic relief is the best actor in the film, and all that he is, is a synthetic voice.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience.  Nothing life changing, and not as good as the film I watched after it (About A Boy, again).  If you can find it, rent it and turn off the brain.  Decent waste of an hour and a half.

A bald man named Savalas visited me last night in a dream.  I think it was a Telly vision.

I will always remember Dr. Coldyron giving his statement to the police as though it were a novel. "The buttery mornin' sun painted a warm glow through the bunkhouse window."

Hilariously bad movie.
