A local TV has started providing, let's say "questionable" image support to the news. I'll explain. Once, when talking about several hackers having been arrested and WITHOUT PREVIOUS WARNING the images that supported the news were several cuts from "Hackers", such as silly teens toying with a cargo vessel via Internet. And no, neither there was any oral warning nor there were any comments on the screen warning that those were images from a movie and not what those kids had done. I know it is more funny than anything else, but it really made me angry. Angrier than I had been in a long, long, time. I mean, some people would watch the images and think all sorts of weird things about it, plus it could cause unnecesary alarm about quite a minor incident. Not to mention the blatant stealing of images without providing any credit. And I think I've seen several other cases in the very same channel. Maybe I should watch the news from somewhere else after this.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

the usage you described is indeed ridiculous. i seriously think you should write a letter similar to your post and send it to them and/or your local paper. you make a good point.

A news snippet the other day told how a police ciruclar described a suspect,as looking like Ice Cube.  A local TV channel responded by running the story with a clip of Ice Cube in a video/movie.  A couple of public relations nightmares followed.
