I have not had any time in the last month and a half to watch b-movies.   It has been, frankly, a little painful to me.

A welcome respite was last weekend, when Todd (best man at my wedding years back) came over and we watched my new DVD of "Star Crystal."  The film ended and my friend just stared at the screen for moments before saying something to the effect of, "That was awful."  He now considers it one of the worst films he has ever seen.

I also had a chance to watch "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust."  Superior animation to the first, very much so.  I am so-so on the story though.  Of course, the story in the first was not exactly a stunning example of work.  They seemed to be trying to mix the first movie with "Laputa" in the way it ended.  And, yes, the "Final Fantasy" games owe much to "Laputa."
