Recent Glimpses

Rented JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS for my daughter who's studing was studying Greece last week. This is always a great movie with the work of Harryhausen.

On TV I also caught a few minutes of AMC's American Pop this morning it showed alot of clips from DEADLY MANTIS, THE SPIDER, REVENGE OF THE CREATURE, and some ADDMISSION TIME clips from the theaters of people at the snack bar. Next time they said they are going to show clips from GODZILLA: KING OF MONSTERS.

Just after the American Pop they played THE RAVEN starring Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Which I had to tape and watch later since I have never seen this classic. AMC also showed CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON last night

AMC is a great channel and getting better every year. I would say better than SCI FI channel when it comes to movies.

Sci Fi Channel has been showing the original STAR TREK at 5pm EST on weekdays and a couple nights a week they have been showing a classic 50's horror and sci-fi, but always between 2am to 6am.

Encore Mystery has been showing the AVENGERS TV series weekdays in the evening.

The Sci Fi Channel and AMC have been our only hope for 50's sci-fi and horror flicks.

I've also rented from Blockbuster INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE for the first time and will post my thoughts later this week on this film.
