HEAVEN'S GATE is another ultra-baddie that I believe nearly wrecked a studio and a few careers along the way.

Though Ed Wood's films were technically incompetent and poorly written and conceived, I think they aren't really the WORST films--it's far worse when people are supposedly professionals in the film industry, paid millions of dollars, and produce the likes of EXORCIST II or HEAVEN'S GATE.  When they fail, they fail big.

I sorta liked GUMMO in an "Let's look at the traffic accident" sort of way.

I've seen a lot of bad movies these days (A Name For Evil, Slaughterhouse, Silo Killer, etc) but the worst of the bunch was Pledge Night. Totally worthless piece of junk.

silo killer 2 was awsome

IT'S ALIVE (1969) LARRY BUCHANAN's messterpiece is so terribly bad that it has some unexpected chuckles, but it is oppressively boring most of the time.  However, for me, BLOOD OF DRACULA'S CASTLE (also 1969) is truly a waste of time and would be the worst I've seen, since it had zero entertainment value.  But, I know there must be worse.

My vote would also be "Manos Hands of Fate".  I've only seen this one with a man and 2 robots in the bottom right corner making fun of it but it was still nearly unbearable to watch.  Its so bad its hard to make fun of, if someone tries to put together a movie but fails in some way its funny.  If you can tell from start to finish not a single actor, director, producer, etc. gave a crap its hard to care.  Also blatantly zero effort in post-production (splicing scenes together generally should mean actors are standing in the same spot from one splice to the next).  There may be some as crappy, but to get much worse we would have to talking low grade porn or highschool kids class video projects.  The only thing positive I can say about this movie is that it actually is feature length, I congratulate those who made it on reaching success as defined by this standard.
A close second would be anything that is a "SciFi original movie", remove the word "original" and put in "small town terrorized by CGI creature in our stock movie format" would be more accurate.

There isn't a movie worse than Return of the Boogeyman (1994).

Dracula: AD 1972.  TeddyR

I found a review saying this film was already looking dated by 1973 !

YES!!! Finally somebody has seen Return of the Boogeyman... When I've seen Return of the Boogeyman (1994), 3 years ago I thought there was no way any movie could be that bad. Even Manos and Troll 2 cannot reach Return of the Boogeyman's toenail.

There was one "movie" I picked up at a pawnshop once that I can't belive ever got made.  The store had some kinda deal like 3 movies for $5 or something like that.  They were trying to get rid of their VHS tapes to make room for more DVD stuff, so after finding two good movies, I struggled to find a third and ended up getting something that had the close up of a skeleton in bandgaes/mummy thing on the box.  I can't recall exactly.  My mind refuses to retain information about it.  I may be confusing it with another cheap movie I bought.

ANYWAY...

There are a lot of things a movie can forget or not include.  But the one thing a movie CAN'T forget and still call itself a movie, is to actually have things happen in it.  Even Red Zone Cuba and Skydivers had things happen.  Bad, horrible, and dull things.  But things.

This "movie" was a people sitting in the dark telling ghost stories.  Not to anybody else, to the camera.  Not in that "Tales from the Crypt" style, where they say they're teling you a story then cutting to an actual movie, but just sitting there talking to the camera in the dark trying to be scary, with no plot, no effects, no real camera work, nothing.  They weren't even good stories.

I really wish I could remember the name of it now.

Darkstown strutters. Oh lord, it was stupid, offensive and ridiculous without a single redeeming frame.

THE MAIZE, released to DVD as DARK HARVEST 2: THE MAIZE.  Two hours of a the writer/director/producer/editor/star walking around a corn maze yelling "Girls! Girls! Girls? Are you in here?"

Made locally, he was recently arrested on charges of tax fraud.

I'm trying to place the name but can't come up with it.  That one $1 DVD with the quasi undead civil war soldier.  I watched it once and $1 was rather generous to pay for it.  However, sadly I can't come up with the name now.

OVERSEXED RUGSUCKERS FROM MARS was HORRIBLE!!  I watch some terrible stuff, but that movie was easily the worst thing I've seen the last few years.

Did it star lance henrickson? If so it might have been "Near dawn".
