Been enjoying the discussions on here for a while, and thought I'd start one.

My brother and I play a game inspired by the various bad Hollywood remakes of old movies and TV shows. We pick one that hasn't been done (yet), we each pick a cast of current Hollywood actors, and debate the merits of our choices. Would Mel Gibson make a good Col. Hogan, or how would Adam Sandler do as Gilligan, that sort of thing.

Our most recent was a Hollywood verson of Red Dwarf, with Will Smith as Lister, Rob Schneider as Rimmer, Chris Tucker as Cat, Robin Williams as Kryten, and George Carlin as Holly.

Anybody else play games like this?

I did a similar game. Although I would just remake a film I like with a completly unacceptable cast. For example, Pulp Fiction starring the Muppets.
Here's my casting:
Kermit the Frog as Vincet Vega

Gonzo as Jules

Snuffleupagus as Macelus Wallace (Imagine him getting hit by the car, big mess)

Fozzy Bear as the Boxer. "Zed's dead, baby. Zed's dead. Waka waka waka."

The Count as the Col. - "I hid this watch up my ass for not one. Not two. But six. Six months. Ah ha ha ha ha.

Miss Piggy as the boxers girlfriend.(Remember the conversation about sexy pot bellies?)

That hippie chick muppet in Uma Thurman's role.

Big Bird as the pierced chick

Oscar the Grouch as the drug dealer

Ernie as Quentin Tarantino's character
Bert as his wife

Ralph the Dog as Mr. Wolf

Elmo as the guy that gets his brains blown out in the back seat

Honey Bunny and her boyfriend played by the rat muppets

The two old geezer judges as the two guys in the pawn shop

And Beeker as the Gimp

That is sick, sick, sick. I like it! One of the basic rules of comedy, put two things together, that Do Not belong together! How about this cast: IRON EAGLE 3:Aces high. Damon Wayens as Chappie Sinclair, Jackie Chan as the Japanese pilot, Dudley Moore as the Brit, and David Hasselhoff as the German guy, with David Spade as the evil guy, "Capt. Stubing" as the other evil guy, and The Sinfield chick as the love intrest?Guitarwolf wrote:

The mention of Capt. Stuebing got me thinking. How about Star Trek: The Next Generation with characters from The Love Boat?

Stuebing looks a bit like Picard, at least from the forehead up. The rest are also somewhat interchangeable.

We'd have Capt. Stuebing in the centre chair, Doc Bricker as chief medical officer, Isaac running Ten Forward and Julie McCoy as ship's counselor. I'm not sure where Gopher would fit in, maybe he would replace Data. Love Boat even had an annoying kid (Vicky?) who could replace Wesley.

Actually, the TNG characters running the Pacific Princess would be pretty funny too.

The whole cast of "Friends" to appear in Deodato's heartwarming "Make Them Die Slowly" aka "Cannibal Holocaust" - fun for all the family! Or how about the cast of "Ally McBeal" waking up one fine morning to find themselves as guests of Farmer Vincent's "Motel Hell(o)"?

Bruce Campbell as Neo

Gary Coleman as Morpheus

Pee Wee Herman as Agent Smith

RuPaul as Trinity

And a small cameo by Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith (jay and silent bob you nitwit!) as Agent Brown and Jones.
