Watched this one agine this weekend.
Love the Ymir. Andrew is right....that poor guy! "Egg napped" to another planet, grows big because of a strange environment, and gets offed while just trying to get by. The noive a odse humans!
Fun to watch, and MST. Its has a Kenny!...but, they ditch his annoying butt a third of the way through. (Thank God).
Lots of riffing material!
Reporter "Venus? You mean the Planet venus?"
Flange: "No, the exotic dancer, ya prune!"

General."I've got to see a man about a horse"
Flange: "200 lira? I ought to horse whip ya, ya lil Sicilian Kenny! Why i oughta..."

Hero (Paul Drake..er, William Hopper) "Well, hello, almost doctor."
Flange: "Well hello, almost actor."

General ends press confrence."Now excuse me, i gotta go kill some giant grass hoppers."
Oh,yeah...its a keeper.

>grows big because of a strange environment

It's been a while since I've seen all of this, but was that the reason? Even if it was mentioned in the movie, how do they know that wasn't its normal size? Dinosaur eggs weren't very big in relation to their adult size.

Well, as i recall, the hero said, that while the ship was on Venus, they never saw the creatures get much bigger then a man. Might have been the presence of so much more okyigen that caused them to get "Embiggened".

Took it out recently on dvd from my library.  I've always seen the Ymir but never the whole movie before.  Great old monster movie that I was missing out on.  I only mainly watch Japanese monster movies so a few American ones like this one I've missed out on.  Now I only need to see the Beast From 20,000 Fanthoms.
