CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER (1974) - Great Hammer film. Different type of Vampire film where those who get bit have their youth taken away and they shrivel up.  Captain Krono is some type of soldier who fights vampires along with his assistant hunchback. The film reminds me of FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS and the soldier thing reminds me a bit of Jack Nicholson in THE TERROR who comes to a place to find horrors of sorts. What you will really like about KRONOS is the heroic music, but the sword play leaves a little much to be desired. Nice one for the collection. Found my copy at Walmart for $5.88.

I agree with Matt . . . I watched my copy of this a week or so ago and found it to be fast-paced and interesting.

I love the "swordplay" scene in the tavern where Captain Kronos teaches some local tough guys a lesson . . .

The bitten victims and the heroic music are what made the movie for me. The music was neat.

Yeah. I hold this, along with "Vampire Circus" are the best vampire films of the '70's. For me, what made it was the humor in it. Watch what happens when Capt. Kronos (Horst Janson) picks up the man ran over by a wagon. ROTFL! Which is no surprise. The people responsible for this were also responsible for "The Avengers," the television series..

Here's some more on the film. Meant to be a series of films, which I knew, it never got past this first one, which is a shame. What I did not know, until recently, the hero was called Kronos, because he was suppose to be able to travel back and forth in time. In each film, fighting a different vampire in a different time period. Enjoy the one that exists.
