I watched 28 days later a couple days ago and I guess I liked it because i am still thinking about it.

I wish they would do a prequel.  Show the infection getting out of the lab and spreading to the whole 'island' and then ending when he wakes up in the hospital.

That would be a really intense movie.  (With lots of blood)

Parts of it were ok, but I didn't enjoy the rapid camera work. Was hoping for something better.

I enjoyed it inmensely. More closer to John Windham's "Day of the trifids" than to the usual zombie flick. I guess that should be thanked to writer Alex Garland. The only problem I had with it, apart from the incredible fighting skills of the main character, was that stupid epilogue.

Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I liked Danny Boyle's other films (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave) and am looking forward to seeing it. A prequel idea doesn't sound like a bad idea, especially since other films are picking up on the concept (The Ring, Resident Evil, etc.).

A prequel would probably be better....I didn't like this film much because I thought it copied the worst things from its influences [the plodding talkiness and hamfisted "social commentary" of Romero, without any of the chills and excitement.]  The most exciting part was imagining what it was like when the plague first broke out.  I hope they get someone to do it who is a little better at pacing genre films, though.  The art-film pacing of this was dull after the first half.

28 Days Later... I think I had mixed feelings about this film. I agree that quite a bit of the social commentary was ham-fisted and that in many ways, as a "zombie" type film it was quite slow - except for the zombies themselves and obviously the cutting, which I admit was too... pretentious. I'm with Mr. Cranky on this - all the moving the camera around and such-like is annoying, stupid and blatantly shows the director is pretending he has skill.

But at the same time the film was pretty interesting...

They're making a prequel to Resident Evil?  That's a little presumptuous since Nemesis, the sequel, hasn't even been released yet! [unless Nemesis is the prequel, then I will go insane!]

I've seen the Japanese Ring prequel, and I thought it had potential.  I wouldn't mind seeing it done Hollywood style.

But then again, you also have the Star Wars prequels.  I'd be wary before reccomending any prequels!

I'm working on it, I'm working on it ...  in the meantime, work up a screenplay yourself!

It's done pretty well financially, so backers for a prequel might be found, but I imagine the real trouble would be getting permission from Danny Boyle and Alex Garland about re-using their concepts.  A prequel would probably be a lot more conventional than their film, which they might object to.
