Then it wasn't ANIME. It was ANIMATED.
As an Anime fan, I have to object to the improper use of the word. Although it is a more generic word in Japanese, in english usage, Anime refers specifically to animated programs (be they for TV, movies, or original video release) produced in Japan. Things like Cowboy Bebop, Innu Yasha, Ranma 1/2, Record of Lodoss War, and the ever-annoying Dragonball series. But while I'm here...
[RANT/]Give me a break. A cartoon about robots, that was not made in Japan, that was GOOD? I ain't buyin' it. Most American cartoons (although there have been a few exceptions - like The Simpsons) are horrible - poor plotting at best, painful animation, and even more painful character developement (or, rather, a lack thereof...).[/RANT]
Sorry. Don't know what came over me...
