Gecko Brothers

This week I rented two very unique films from the UK. Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels and Snatch. Both movies were made by the same guy.

-Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels
-This crime drama/comedy is about four friends in a situation with a porn king.
Tom, who deals with selling stolen goods to a Nick "the Greek."
Eddie, an excellent card player that can read the reactions of players.
Bacon, Jason Statham! he also sells illegal goods.
Soap, my favorite character he tries to stay laway from illegal ideals, has obsessions with knives.
those were the friends here is the other characters
Harry "the Hatchet", porn king beats a guy with a rubber.....You can guess what it is if your into that thing got shot up.
Big Chris, settles unsettled debts for Harry only thing he really cares about more than unsettled debts is his son Little Chris in the end they really become rich.
Dog, robs people over there hard-earned drug money has a gang and they die in shoot-out, he dies bye getting his head smashed by a car door(Eddie's neighbour)
Rory, black guy with Affro he is a mad man, but every thing he does his funny he sells drugs and has a  gang of his own he and  his gang also got killed in shoot-out

Well we start up on with a introductuion to the characters. They have to earn money so they can be in  a three card poker game. Eddie had to go play because of his gift. The man they play is Harry. He is also obsessed in smashing peoples brains with items. Anyways in a game Eddie accumulated quite a debt when he lost. Now he and his friend has to pay before they get all there fingers cut off and his father loses his loved bar. Big Chris is here to negotiate the problem they have to Eddies father. While figuring on how to pay the debt Eddie got a plan. It seams that Dog is planning a big heist so they rob Dog, but first they need guns. The guns they got are two antiques double-barrel shotguns that were meant for Harry, but were accidently sold to Tom for 700 pounds even though they are worth 250,000 pounds plus. Not only do they rob Dog's money but also his weed. They decided to  sell it to Rory, even though it was origionally his. Rory finds out got p**sed plans to kill them.  Dog finds out that his nieghbours rob him and hold up there and waits for Eddie to come through the door. Instead Reroy comes and the situation goes to hell. I would write the end but it so strange and funny that I just can't. In the end the movie was really funny and sharp. Personally I thought it was better than Taratino's dramas. You should rent it or buy it, now.
I leave you with this word of wisdom

Eddie: They're armed.
Soap: Armed, armed with what?
Eddie: Err, bad breath, colorful language, feather duster... what do you think they're gonna be armed with? Guns, you tit!

Snatch
Kinda of the same movie and couple of the same thing basically smae story with a twist to the end as always

These are two really good films, though it kinda annoys me how Snatch is basically the same movie [even though i like it better].

Good ol' Guy Ritchie, including "Lucky Star" by Madonna on the soundtrack.  Shame that he went further and included her in Swept Away.

The Burgomaster

I was on a business trip in Scotland and I saw LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS in the theater.  I loved it.  It got released here in the U.S. several months later and I encouraged a few people to see it.  Now, I own the DVD.  Very good movie.

"Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me either. Just pretty much leave me the hell alone."

Grumpy Guy

Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels is a great flick.  Snatch was okay, too, but LSATSB was a lot more fun.

Flangepart

LSTASB....verrrrry interesting...espchual the ending! Another reason to hate cell phones.

"Aggressivlly eccentric, and proud of it!"

Colt M1991A1

Lock, Stock... is probably one of my 10 favourite films of all time. Snatch is basically the same film, but more "American-friendly" in some respects.

The English refer to the films as "Mockney", with good reason.

They're both good though- especially the bit with Gloria and the Bren Gun...
